In the center of the city on a towering hill there is a monument to the Khan of the Younger Zhuz, an outstanding figure, a commander, a diplomat - Abilkhair Khan. The majestic monument was opened in 2000 and became one of the favorite sights of citizens and guests of Aktobe. This is an obligatory place for visiting newlyweds and tourists. Around the monument, the city life is a key: people walk in the park, shop in shops, tourists leave the hotel, located nearby. The monument itself is a complex architectural composition, which consists of sculpture, pedestal, foundation and hill. The approach to the monument is decorated in the form of steps from red granite. The foundation and the pedestal are square and rectangular concrete blocks lined with tiles from Corday granite. The sculpture of Abilkhair on horseback is poured out of bronze. Khan is dressed in traditional Kazakh clothes - a cap. A saber hangs on his belt. The total height of the monument is 12.3 m, the height of the sculpture is 2.8 m. The authors of the monument to the great khan are the famous Kazakh sculptor E. Sergeybaev and the architects B.Egimbaev and N.Kozhagulov. According to the architectural plan, the legendary commander is depicted in that period of his life, when the fate of the Kazakh people was decided and a great battle with the Jungars was to be. His raised hand encourages the people to unite and strive for victory. A horse is a symbol of freedom. Honor and respect Abilkhair Khan deserved during his lifetime for courage, courage and military tactics. In addition, he was not only an excellent commander, but also a skilled diplomat. It was he who prevented the genocide of the Kazakhs in the fight against the Dzungarian army. Abilkhair Khan was the first to decide on the need to enter Russian citizenship. This union was needed to provide the Kazakh people with a peaceful life and further development. Then part of the Middle Zhuz also joined him. Abulkhair Khan died on August 1, 1748, in the battle with Sultan Barak. He is buried in the cemetery "Khan Molasy", which is located on the territory of the modern Aitekebi region of the Aktobe region. The monument to Abilkhair Khan was erected in front of the building of the regional administration.
